Houston Rap/Soul Crew The HUE to Premiere New Podcast in 2026

Houston, TX – It’s 2026, and it’s a new year for alternative Houston hip-hop / soul crew The HUE and the Peace Uv Mine enterprise.

Last March, MCs/podcast producers/clothing designers J. “Savvi” Fowler and Eric “EQuality” Blaylock debuted the “My HUEston” short-form video series on The HUE’s social-media platforms. Local artists, rappers, singers and other notable figures were interviewed about the things they love about Houston, as well as the things they love about Houston that even Houstonians don’t know about. Among the guests were Kam Franklin, DJ Sun, Matt Sonzala, DJ Supastar, DJ Big Reeks, Joe P, DJ Loso, Rod Glass, Jr., Bevin Biggers, and others.

“If someone needed an elevator pitch, it’s documentation of two sides of Houston culture, with varied experiences from a melting pot of people,” says Blaylock. “We know that one side, but HUE is that other side of Houston culture that doesn’t normally get mentioned when people talk about the slabs or [DJ] Screw.”

Savv and EQuality also teamed up (as always) with vocalist Alycia Miles and dropped the Colored Only EP on all streaming-music platforms last June. The EP includes the previously released singles “Keep On,” “Own It (Hunnid)” and “Media Social,” all produced by Los Angeles singer-songwriter-producer Georgia Anne Muldrow (Erykah Badu, Yasiin Bey).

This year, The HUE will be expanding on their HOU/HUE-documenting with HUEston Chronicles, a podcast scheduled to premiere on YouTube and podcast platforms early this year. Named after Savvi’s debut 2004 album, Chronicles will feature long-form interviews with local artists and other Houstonians. There are also plans to release Colored Only on vinyl.

“We want to continue growing this content, which is our umbrella,” says Savvi. We’re basically using POD’N Platformation as a vehicle to highlight the true diversity of this great city and bring visibility to all the things we’ve been doing all this time. HUEston’s got two sides.”
