MONTREAL, QC — Montreal-via-South Central artist Jo Compadre has teamed up with producer Cotola to drop their joint EP, Puerto Real. The project is a heavy mix of hardcore, East Coast storytelling, cinematic beats, and distinct Latin/Caribbean influences.
Puerto Real brings together Compadre’s sharp street narratives and Cotola’s rich production. The EP features guest spots from Paranoize, Katie Clark, and Neruda, delivering a sound built equally for the streets and the studio purists. Throughout the record, the duo tackles themes of resilience and hustle through a gritty, cinematic lens.
Focus Track: “La Marina”
Leading the EP is “La Marina,” a sun-soaked, jazz-laced track produced by Cotola. The song rides over warm keys and a mellow groove, channeling the smooth, street-smart energy of an Alchemist joint featuring Curren$y and Freddie Gibbs.
