That’s why this album me and C-Bo did means a lot. I’ve listened to it a lot and there hasn’t been an album like this in a long time. It reminds me of some of the older AWOL days and it’s real underground. Mainstream might not ever accept it, but I think that it’s the truest form for a lot of people.

They’re trying to charge me with a double homicide and make it seem like there is a Rap war jumping off between Kansas City and The Bay. They are always trying to bring the rappers down, so I guess I was nominated, elected, and chosen.

Latino and West Coast Rap is slept on. But I don’t blame anyone at all. On the West Coast it’s more street. Artists like me don’t know the guys in the offices in New York. We might make money and be the hottest thing on the street, but there has to be a connection to someone up in the buildings.

I wanted to create an environment where artists like myself won’t be restricted and don’t have to worry if someone is gonna come along and pull the plug on us. I started reaching out to my comrades like P.E., Dead Prez, Kam from LA and really started putting this dream team revolutionary thing together.

Hands down, the streets. The streets period. What comes with the streets is everything.  From the nagging baby-momma to the jailhouse, to facing a life sentence, going back and forth to court, dodging warrants. You know how that go. Dodging bullets.

They are gonna have to be ready because we are here now. We are taking it! If you’re sleeping on the Bay Area and you chose not to be awake when we hit it’s too late. We already hi-jacked the plane and now we’re about to run into the buildings.

You are getting sounds from us that you probably never heard before. Where we come from we don’t spit about the glamour and all of that so you get a different perspective off the lyrics too.

I definitely don't want to be boxed in or labeled for music that people outside of the Bay don't understand. I've been making beats for years and I can do anything. Hyphy is an energy, so it can be whatever you make it if you are hyphy. The music can be as diverse as the people; just make sure it slaps.

I was misquoted.  Basically “Release Therapy” is my most personal album, because I’m sharing more of my thoughts, and my ideas are on certain topics. I’m not sharing my life story or anything like that, but I’m giving more of me as a person who has ideas and opinions on what is happening in the world.
